My family is very deep in roots and everyone knows that roots are very strong. That's why the Jacksons have one of the
toughest family histories ever. Like a lot of families, however, we did not originate in the city we reside in currently. One
could say that we started out in a small town called Equality, Alabama. A man by the name of Otis Hogan Sr. was
one of the few African-American men who owned property in the south. From that point on, our family continued having success
as individuals as well as a group. I am proud to be apart of such a strong and tolerant family.
What inspired me to do this website was my keen interest in family and geneology. I find it fascinating that a person
can have a relative they never dreamed of having! One could have a cousin from Africa and a grandfather from the
West Indies! Most of this information was obtained from talking to living relatives and from researching public records. In
the course of doing this research, I've discovered that my family is very strong in numbers and very successful overall, especially
after a rough beginning.
This is a work in progress, so please contact me if you have any information that might help
round out the picture.
